Prepare your bathroom for Autumn

The nights are drawing in and the mornings have a chill in the air, both sure signs that summer has passed. Getting out of bed when it still seems like the middle of the night is never easy but it has to be done, so why not make your bathroom as inviting as you can.

Light it up

It may still be pitch black outside but you’d never know it in your bathroom, having a well lit room will help to wake you up. Illuminated cabinets are a great choice as they combine a mirror and bathroom storage with a handy light to make it easier when applying makeup or shaving. Illuminated mirrors provide a warmer light than most ceiling lights can as they often produce more of an orange glow.

Make it warm

It is no fun getting ready in the morning when it is freezing cold so by adding a stylish radiator or heated towel rail it will make showering or washing more pleasant, it will also ensure that you always have a dry towel to hand when it’s needed. There are so many different radiators available and a size to fit almost every room, you will be spoilt for choice.

Hang it up

Having sufficient hanging space in the bathroom is essential to ensure that your clothes are kept off the floor to avoid them getting splashed. A hook is a convenient way of hanging your bathrobe so you have it to hand when you get out of the shower, even if the room is full of steam you will know where to reach it.

Other ways of making your bathroom feel warm and welcoming would be to have a bold or colourful theme avoiding pale blues and white as these make the room feel colder.

A bathroom rug is a nice touch so you don’t have to stand on the cold floor after bathing, as well as minimising the puddles of water created on wood flooring.
