Ideas For Bathroom Colour Schemes

If your bathroom is looking in need of some TLC, give it a facelift with a quick injection of colour. Being smaller than other rooms, bathrooms are the perfect place to experiment with colours and patterns. There are plenty of bright wall colours and bold wallpapers you can choose from. Here’s a few ideas to inspire you:

Strong wall colour

You may think that you can only go for bright colours in a bathroom if you have a modern suite, but this isn’t the case. Even if you have a traditional bathroom, a bold colour on the walls creates the perfect contrast to period-style fittings. And if you are not quite daring enough to go for electric blue just yet, then there are some equally striking period wall colours in dark greens and rich blues.

Wallpaper

Many people tend to shy away from using wallpaper in their bathrooms for fear of damage caused by humidity and moisture. But choose wallpaper specifically designed for bathrooms and this isn’t a problem. Big, bold patterned wallpaper will give your bathroom a boudoir feel – the ultimate pampering environment.

Create a feature wall

Don’t think a feature wall has to be bright floral wallpaper, you can also create a wonderfully dramatic effect with a mirrored wall in your bathroom. This has the added bonus of making the space look double-the-size too.

Monochromes

The simple lines of monochromes can make any room look sleek and smart. Use dark tiles to contrast against white bathroom fittings for a dramatic effect.

Go natural

Choose natural materials to add colour and warmth to your bathroom. Wood flooring looks great in bathrooms and is much warmer underfoot than tiles. You can add extra elements such as wooden shelves or a wooden wall cabinet to continue the theme.

Pretty pastels

Soft refined pastels can create just as much wow-factor as all those bigger bolder colours. Complement the walls with soft colours on the floor and bathroom accessories.

Whatever colour scheme you choose be sure to create a tranquil haven where you can relax and unwind at the end of a long day.
