How dated is your toilet?

A recent BBC news article depicts how researchers have incredibly uncovered an ancient dinosaur toilet in Argentina which dates back to around 240 million years ago, making it the oldest public toilet on earth! The site which had been covered and preserved by a blanket of volcanic ash contained large piles of poo up to 40cm wide and several kilograms in weight.

The faeces can be examined by scientists to determine what diet these creatures had as well as what else would have been present at that time. The species of dinosaur has been identified as the eight foot long Dinodontosaurus which can be compared to a much larger version of the rhinoceros.
